Hati Bersih

 My mom had this amazing story of living under the shadow of her family. 

The only phrase she uses when she's taking a trip down her memory lane was "mak dulu tak pandai semua benda"..

Di pinang mak mertua,

Tak pernah jumpa dan kenal suami sebelum nikah,

Tak pernah tengok duit,

Tak pandai pergi bandar,

Tak pandai beli barang di kedai,

Tak pernah lihat duit,

Tak pernah naik teksi,

Tak berpeluang ke sekolah,

Jaga adik-adik sampai besar, barulah ikut suami merantau.... barulah belajar tentang hidup

And the funniest memory was, when she was upset with her first salary... she vented out to my late Tok Abah (her father obviously)...

"Abah! penat kerja, duit dapat satu aje!!"

Kata Tok Abah "duit tu memang satu, tapi nilainya besar. RM100 tu banyak" (zaman dulu, besar amount ni)

Of all these funny stories that she was ashamed of, and laughed about, she often admire her anak and cucu for being so called "pandai hidup zaman sekarang"...

Little that she knows, how important she was, is and forever in our life..
